CVA Music Students Perform Live

Castle View Academy Music students over the past two weeks have had the opportunity to perform at two great local music events, Portchester Christmas light switch on and Rock the Room at the Portsmouth Guildhall.

Students from year 7-10 helped spread Christmas cheer at the Christmas light switch on in Portchester precinct by performing the John Lennon track Happy Christmas (War is Over), accompanied vocally by Mrs Nutland with Shane May on guitar.

Year 10 students then performed at this year’s Rock the Rooms music event at Portsmouth Guildhall.  Students Shane May, Danielle Cheung, Dylan Willis and Oliver George performed three songs which included an Ed Sheeran and an AC-DC number.

Year 10 student, Shane May, said:

“I love being part of something that makes a difference to those around me.  Music is a universal language that brings people together in spite of our differences and it’s great that we can share that with our community.”

"I just wanted to say thank you to you and your students for performing at the Rock the Rooms gig last night. It's so nice to see how the band is progressing having had them involved in events like this for a few years now, and I thought they did brilliantly and several colleagues have commented on how impressed they were with the performance.” Senior Leader of Education, Portsmouth Music Hub
