We believe that all students at Castle View should be equipped with the ambition, choices and confidence to be successful in future study and work. We have therefore designed our Careers Education Information and Guidance (CEIAG) programme around these pillars:
Our careers programme is written around the Gatsby benchmarks for Good Career Guidance:
For further information about these benchmarks click here: www.gatsbybenchmarks.org.uk
The Qualified Careers Leader, Louise Abbott, has leadership and management of CEIAG and is supported by a member of the senior leadership team on raising participation and ensuring all students experience a high level of careers education whilst at the academy.
The academy provides Independent Careers Advice from Louise Abbott, a Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser, and all students will have at least one meeting with the Careers Adviser before they leave in year 11. The role of the Careers Adviser is to provide impartial information, advice and guidance for students and support the application process and planning of post-16 options. The academy works closely with external providers such as The University of Portsmouth, The University of Southampton, The University of Bournemouth, City of Portsmouth College, South Hampshire College Group, Havant & South Downs College, UTC, Sparsholt and a number of other local training providers to ensure that student transition is smooth and that students have a good knowledge of the courses and training that each establishment provides. All members of staff are expected to contribute to CEIAG through their roles as tutors and subject leaders.
