Who Can I Go to If…?
Starting a new school can bring lots of questions. At Castle View Academy, there are always adults ready to help you if you need support, reassurance, or advice.
I feel poorly or have hurt myself at school
Mrs Trim is our Medical Welfare Officer. She is based in the first aid room on the ground floor.
Mrs Trim can provide first aid and help if you are feeling unwell during the school day. If you need medical support, let a member of staff know so they can help you get to her safely.
Someone has been unkind to me
If someone has been unkind or you are having friendship worries, you can speak to Ms Richardson, our Head of Year 7.
Ms Richardson is trained in Emotional First Aid and will support you to talk things through and help resolve problems in a calm and fair way. You do not have to deal with these situations on your own.
I need help with my schoolwork
All teachers at Castle View Academy are here to help you achieve your best.
If you are confused, unsure, or struggling with your work:
- Speak to your teacher
- Ask questions during or after lessons
Teachers are always happy to help—often all you have to do is ask.
I haven’t completed my homework
If you are finding homework difficult or need extra support:
- Attend homework club after school, where staff can help you organise and complete your work
- Visit IT support if you are unable to log in to online homework platforms
If there is a problem completing your homework, it’s important to talk to your teacher as soon as possible so they can help.
I feel anxious or scared
If you are feeling worried, anxious or scared, there are several people you can talk to:
- Your form tutor should always be your first point of contact
- If further support is needed, you can speak to Ms Richardson (Head of Year 7)
- You can also talk to Mr Beck, SEMH Lead, who supports students with anxiety and emotional worries
Remember: a trouble shared is a trouble halved.
I’ve forgotten my equipment or PE kit
If you forget your equipment:
- Your tutor may have spare items you can borrow for the day
If you forget your PE kit:
- The school has spare PE kits available
You may receive a detention if this happens regularly, so it’s a good idea to pack your bag the night before school to make sure you have everything you need.
Remember
There is always someone at Castle View Academy who will listen and help. Asking for support is a strength, not a weakness.
