Roll Call

Roll Call is an important part of the school day and helps everyone start the morning calmly, confidently, and prepared.

From 8:25am, students begin lining up in their tutor groups. At 8:30am, the whistles blow to signal the official start of Roll Call. At this time, your Tutor or Head of Year will stand on the step ladder to share important information about the day ahead, such as reminders, events, or special notices.

While this information is being shared, your Tutor will walk along the line to check that you are:

  • Present and ready for the day
  • Wearing the correct school uniform
  • Equipped with everything needed for learning

This allows staff to quickly support anyone who may need help or has forgotten something.

If you arrive after 8:30am, you will need to go to the late gate, which is located next to the main reception, so your arrival can be recorded correctly.

Once Roll Call is complete, your Tutor will lead your group into your tutor classroom, where you will take part in Tutor Time. Tutor Time is an opportunity to settle in, organise your day, talk about important topics, and build positive relationships with your tutor and classmates.

Roll Call and Tutor Time help Year 6 students feel welcomed, supported, and ready for the rest of the school day as they transition into secondary school.
