Year 7 visit Dover Castle

Chloe Witherden / Categories: General

"We are excited to report that the recent Year 7 trip to Dover Castle was a great success! All of our students had the opportunity to explore the castle and learn about its rich history, dating back to the 1100s.

During the visit, students were able to see first-hand how the castle was used throughout the centuries, including its use as a royal palace, a military fortress, and a secret wartime underground hospital. The castle’s expert guides provided our students with a wealth of information and insights into the castle's history and its various uses.

In addition to the castle tour, our students participated in a session led by experts on how to break codes to catch spies during WWII. This was an engaging and interactive experience that allowed our students to learn about the vital role of codebreakers during the war, and how they helped to shape the outcome of the conflict.

Overall, the trip was an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about history, culture, and the role of the castle during wartime. We are confident that our students gained valuable insights and experiences from the trip that will serve them well in their future studies." – Mr Bull-Mittens
