Welcome to Castle View Academy and thank you for taking an interest in developing your career with us.

Castle View Academy is a rapidly expanding academy located in the north of Portsmouth and we are proud of the education and training we offer students and staff in our relatively new building.  We have a track record of continuous improvement in GCSE results with this year’s results setting a new record.  Excellence in all we do lies at the heart of the education we offer and we are eager to meet likeminded colleagues who share this vision.  We believe in traditional values, respect, hard work, determination and resilience and strive to instill these values in our students who learn by example from the staff they interact with.

Our staff are happy, dedicated and hardworking individuals.  We offer bespoke Continuing Professional Development programs for PGCEs, NQTs, Teach First, School Direct and qualified staff and encourage participation in CPD opportunities offered through United Learning.

If you are looking to contribute to the excellent education we offer to the young people of Paulsgrove, I would be delighted to meet with you and show how we work at Castle View Academy.

One of the five principles of United Learning’s approach to running excellent schools is the development of Education with Character. Just as we want pupils to leave here with excellent qualifications, we also want them to leave us as confident and ambitious young adults with a good understanding of the world around them.

In addition to an unrelenting focus on standards and academic excellence, we believe that children need a breadth of opportunities and experiences in order to become confident, well-rounded and ambitious young adults.  We therefore seek to offer pupils a wide range of activities and opportunities designed to broaden their horizons and develop important life skills.

All staff are encouraged to play an active role in the school’s delivery of Education with Character.  This might include:

  • Running extracurricular clubs;
  • Devising new and innovative ways to take learning outside the classroom;
  • Organising school productions and exhibitions;
  • Inviting outside speakers and organisations to work with pupils;
  • Working with pupils on fundraising, charitable and voluntary activities;
  • Organising opportunities for pupils to find out more about universities and different career paths.

As part of United Learning, we receive significant support in our delivery of Education with Character.  There are a number of group-wide events, such as performing arts productions, sports competitions, enterprise events and further education and careers programmes which enhance our offer to pupils.  Staff also have access to advice and guidance from the central team on the delivery of Education with Character and are able to tap into the Group’s wide network of external organisations.

Keep up-to-date with all of the school’s Education with Character work on our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter pages @CastleviewUL
