At Castle View Academy all KS3 students receive a printed booklet of their subject Knowledge Organisers. This sets out the learning for the year ahead. The booklets are also available to view via the links at the bottom of this text.
A Knowledge Organiser is a list of key facts and vocabulary that is important for students to memorise. For each subject, the Knowledge Organiser will help students to access, revise and build their knowledge for the subjects they are studying at Castle View Academy.
KS3 homework will be to learn this knowledge in small sections through self-quizzing. Students also receive a book to present their quizzing homework in. ~The homework timetable can be found here. Subjects will set the page numbers and sections on ‘Satchel’ so that students will be able to know exactly which sections they are revising. Students are also expected to have their Knowledge Organiser packs in every lesson as they may be asked to self-quiz or use their booklets in lessons.
How can I use my Knowledge Organiser to help learn the key information?
This presentation shows you some of the ways you should complete and present your self-quizzing.
Revise your knowledge organiser every day to help store the information in your long-term memory.
