Uniform

Uniform plays an important role in contributing to the ethos of the school, giving students pride to wear it and a good impression of the school in the community.

Having every student in uniform is important because we are a community where every person is treated equally and the uniform enables us to be consistent with this.

Castle View has a clear policy on uniform and we ask that you and your parents give it your full support. Click here to read the Uniform Policy.

  • Dance Kit

Year 7 & 8 students are expected to wear their normal PE kit for all dance lessons.  Year 9, 10 & 11 dancers are required to wear a plain black tank leotard and black footless tights/leggings for every dance lesson.  Alternatively dancers can wear plain black jogging bottoms or shorts and a plain black t-shirt.

All dancers will be expected to dance in bare feet. This is a BTEC assessment condition. The use of foot thongs is allowed should your child wish and these are available to purchase from all good dancewear shops and online.

    Kit policy

All students must have the correct PE kit for every lesson. If students forget all or a part of their kit, students will receive a CV card tick and be given a clean, dry spare kit from our kit lockers to wear. Parents and carers will be notified by a text message, or a phone call home in some situations. If students refuse to participate due to kit issues, they will be sent out of the lesson and to the R&R room, the class teacher will phone home to notify the parent/carer.

    Injuries and illness

If students cannot participate due to medical reasons, a dated and signed note must be written to the PE Teacher explaining the reason. You may also call the school reception and leave a message for the class teacher. Education and engagement are at the forefront of our lessons and if your child cannot physically participate, the class teacher will cater for them in a non-physical role. Therefore, all students are always expected to bring in their kit and change if they are physically able too. Failure to do this will result in a CV card tick for lack of equipment. We do not accept notes for menstrual cycles unless there is medical evidence of a medical related condition. Notes for long term illness/injuries will also require a hospital/doctor's letter to be shown to the class teacher and school medical officer when possible.
