FANTASTIC GCSE EXAMINATION SUCCESS FOR CASTLE VIEW ACADEMY

Students and staff at Castle View Academy are celebrating a fantastic year of GCSE results today. Following the return of examinations being sat in school and after two pandemic years, the Year 11s have received grades that they can be very proud of.

With over half (53%) of the students receiving a 5+ in both English and Mathematics, today was an opportunity to recognise the considerable hard work and determination of students who have faced disruption and uncertainty over the last two and a half years.

Among those celebrating, particular individual successes were:

  • Alfie Grimes who was awarded seven Grade 9’s, one Grade 8 and a Distinction and will be attending Eton College with an academic scholarship from September 2022;
  • Callum Palmer who was awarded five Grade 9’s, one Grade 8, one Grade 6 a Distinction and a Distinction star and will be attending Embley with an academic scholarship from September 2022;
  • Mia O’Neil who was awarded six Grade 9’s, two Grade 7’s and a Distinction and will be attending Embley with an academic scholarship from September 2022.

Commenting on the achievements of students, Christian Down, Principal at Castle View Academy, said:

“I am over the moon with the results that the Year 11’s have achieved. This is a significant milestone for both the school and our amazing students. The school has gone from strength to strength in the last four years but our goal has always been to ensure we open doors for our students to attend the college or sixth form of their choice. This year, more students than ever before will be able to start their level 3 course and hopefully go on to University in the future. This cohort have worked tirelessly showing tremendous resilience, perseverance and ambition through what has been a challenging time for everyone. I look forward to seeing them begin what I hope and expect will be bright futures ahead.”
